What a wonderful place to relax, The sound of the ocean
luls you to sleep after a sunfilled day on the beach, just outside your door. The rooms were filled with great displays of furniture and art. You could "eat off the floor" as the say. A bottle of wine and fresh flowers greeted us as we arrived, and the newspaper was delivered every day.
The owner checked with us regularly to see if everything was to our satisfaction. I cannot think of a better place to stay when visiting Florida and Destin in particular. I took pictures of the rooms and shared with my friends who were also impressed, and plan to follow, some of whom have already made reservations.

We had a wonderful experience at this unit in Feb. 2008.
Very clean and the owners John and Dawn could not have been nicer. Hope and plan to visit again in the near future.

The Lazy Pineapple is the perfect spot for your ideal vacation. The house was gorgeous with all the necessities for the perfect vacation. This house could easily sleep 16 people, but for this vacation I, my husband, 2 year old son and my two parents stayed here. The house was amazing. The kitchen was awesome, fully stocked with all your cooking needs. My parents slept down stairs in a very comfy room (with a bathroom attached). We slept upstairs in the master suite… and let me tell you…this room is gorgeous! The pictures just do not do this house justice. My 2 year old son slept in the room next door in a crib that was provided by the owners. For anyone who has little ones, you know what a relief it is not to have to pack the highchair, pack-n-play, nightlight etc. The owners provided all this for us…and made our vacation so “baby friendly.” The location of this house is PERFECT! It is just about a block from the ocean…such an easy walk… we did drive just because we had a 2 year old and more beach toys than any one child should have :) But if you have small children the owners also provided a couple of wagons that they could climb in and then be pulled down to the beautiful sandy beaches. I don’t want to forget to mention that the owners had all the beach toys/sand buckets you could imagine that they have collected over time that kids can play with… so no need to bring a lot of beach toys like us… just one more convenient/thoughtful bonus to the Lazy Pineapple.
I need to also include the fabulous private heated pool that comes with the house. Oh my goodness, we could have, and pretty much did spend the bulk of our vacation in the pool. It has a shower right by the pool, so when you get back from a long day at the beach, you can wash all the sand off and then spend hours just chillaxin in the crystal clean pool. The pool was one of our favorite parts of the vacation. The steps leading into the pool made it very easy for my mom and 2 year old to get in and out.
I could absolutely write a novel on how much we LOVED the Lazy Pineapple, but I am only allowed so much space for this review. I guess I will wrap this up with saying the house is awesome, the beaches are awesome, the location is awesome, the shopping is awesome, but most importantly… John and Dawn (the owners) are awesome. Please…if you are looking for an amazing vacation destination the Lazy Pineapple is it! You will not be disappointed!! Thank you so much John and Dawn… You’re the BEST!!

Had a great time. The house was everything that we wanted. Had lots of room for the 3 family that was with us. The furnishings was great and the kitchen had everything that you could possibly want.
It was nice having your own private pool. It was truely a home away from home! I hope stay there again next year.

We just returned from a week stay at the Ocean Cabana. It was fabulous and totally met all of our needs. The decorations were perfect for the Florida area with all the palm trees. The kitchen was stocked with all the electrical appliances. The full size washer and dryer was a definite plus as it was nice returning home with clean clothes. Its location was so convenient to local stores and restaurants. However, it was extremely nice having the gas grill in the backyard. It made having our family vacation that much nicer by staying home and enjoying the meal and everyone's company. The walk to the beach wasn't bad at all. We would get up every morning and have our daily walk along the ocean. During the day, we would enjoy the sounds of the waves and the rays of the sun...but if someone wanted to go back to catch more rays, the pool was right there. The owners were very friendly and professional as I was working on the vacation plans. Our whole group did the Blackbeard Sunset Tour. We highly recommend it! We saw dolphins and watched a beautiful sunset before returning. We would definitely recommend the Ocean Cabana & Clearview Vacation Rentals to our family and friends. We can't wait to return!

I had the pleasure of taking my wife, infant son and two couples I know with me to this beautiful property. Southern Charm was the getaway I needed from work. The property owners were responsive before we arrived and during our vacation if we needed to reach them.

The property is conveniently located near retail, restaurants and of course...the beach. They even recommended a place to snorkel in Destin that only locals know about. I was swimming in the ocean 75 yards from a school of dolphins. I'll never forget that!

The property itself had many convenient features: kitchen and large living space on the first floor; master bedroom with large private bath and balcony, 2 guest bedrooms and bath and laundry area on the 2nd and another bedroom on the 3rd floor. Lastly, don't forget about the private pool!

I vacation alot and I would highly recommend this property for families, trips for friends or a romantic getaway for a couple. Destin is beautiful and a must see for the beach lover!

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with all our children and grandchildren at Southern Charm. It was wonderful! The grandkids loved the pool and the ocean as did the adults. It was great sitting out on the balcony off the master suite each morning. All beds were comfortable; the kitchen was easy to use, and we had plenty of room for all of us to eat together. Having a washer and drier on site was helpful. With 14 of us, we did laundry every day. Not having a bathroom on the third floor was the only drawback, but we still managed well. The house was clean and comfortable. This was the first time we had tried a vacation like this. We will definitely do it again.
In addition to playing on the beach, we played golf along the coast, went deep sea fishing (the highlight of the week with Captain Ken on the "Just-B-Cause," and had an up-close-and-personal encounter with a dolphin at the Gulfarium in Ft. Walton. Our favorite restaurant was The Crab Trap.
